Tallaght Community School hosts ‘College Awareness Week’ events

An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating indefinitely
Here at TCS, we want all our students to understand the benefits of going to college and highlight all the opportunities available to them. Running from 22-26th November 2021 we have lots of activities and events planned in school.
This year we’re also delighted to welcome Trinity Access 21 to launch their College Awareness Week with us here in TCS which will include a special visit from Simon Harris TD, Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.
Over the course of the week our activities will include:
College presentations for our 6th years
HEAR/DARE presentations for 6th year
College Connection Webinar for TY, 5th year, 6th year and LCA students
Past TCS pupils will speak about their experience as alumni of UCD, TU Dublin and Maynooth
Junior Achievement Ireland event with Johnson and Johnson to TY, LCA 5 and 6.
Student created career projects displayed around the school
Business in the Community Mentor programme with Arup volunteers covering their college journey for our 5th years.
1st, 2nd and 3rd years will participate in a special lesson with activities like CAW word search, dream job exploration, using careers portal and completing a CAW themed scavenger hunt around the school building.
College information table in the canteen at lunchtime – daily competitions
LCA 5 media project – Interviews with teachers about their college experience with video used in CAW lessons across school.
3rd year music class are composing and recording a song about college and the Art class have designed and created posters of College names to display in the Canteen.
TY students will have a college cookery themed Home Economics class
