In times of difficulty, it becomes more important than ever to latch on to your Northern Star which will guide you and offer direction and purpose. Take a moment to look up to the nighttime sky, to be inspired, to consider its magic. The times that we are living in remind us more than ever that we, like the stars, are only a tiny presence in a vast universe, but they also remind us that each of us has such a vital role to play in making the world healthier and better.
College Awareness Week intends to create unique opportunities for people of all ages to consider their future course and career possibilities. Thousands of Irish people have generated incredible learning experiences for students during this annual campaign, helping students to dream big, and giving them a renewed sense of purpose and direction.
The current crisis is forcing new ways of living and being, while reaffirming the Irish people’s commitment to our communities, our society, our world. We are witnessing the natural urge for human interaction while undertaking the unnatural necessity to socially distance. We are experiencing the power of technology to transform our education and working lives, while at the same time observing that humans play the most important role.
We are gazing in awe at our magnificent constellations of light – selfless healthcare workers, gardai and soldiers, government officials, those people who grow, prepare, deliver and provide the food in our shops, online educators, broadcasters and so many others. Thank you to these people for shining so brightly and offering the light and hope we need to guide us forward.
